Avatar

The UMA Avatar is a component derived from Dynamic Character Avatar of UMA with some extension feature to further integrates its functionality with Game Creator 2.


Creating Character with UMA Avatar

Simply right click on the hierarchy panel and navigate to Game Creator > Characters > Character - UMA or Player - UMA, and you're done.

For newly created UMA characters, you can change the default race and customization preset within the Game Creator settings under the UMA section.

An essential prefab called UMA_GLIB has been added to the hierarchy, ensuring it's always present. This prefab contains crucial components like UMA Context, UMA Generator, and UMA Mesh Combiner, which are necessary for building UMA Avatars and should be present in every scene.

Confirm your character is an UMA by:

  • Expanding the game object hierarchy: Navigate until you find the "Avatar" object. This indicates the presence of an UMA.

  • Inspecting the "Avatar" object in the Inspector window: Search for the "UMA Avatar" component to confirm.

  • Looking for a white wired box gizmo: Directly selecting the character should reveal this box at its base, signifying an UMA.
